Driving home on a remote Northern California road, Cassie spots a man and woman arguing. The fight escalates. Her husband has been growing distant—is it possible he’s become involved with another woman? Or, worse, one of his students?

MY THOUGHTS⇣

I was put into a place early on where I didn't buy what was going on.  It started when she reported what she came across on the side of the road to the police.  They just kept talking to her like she was the guilty one.  The deceptions and twists started coming one after another from there...putting me even more entranced in that place.

The pace of this is frenetic and doesn't let up, and maybe that is why so many have rated this highly.  They didn't have time to stop and analyze all the reveals.  Honestly, the more I think about it...the more far-fetched this feels to me.  Another one of those books that everyone else loves and I'm left underwhelmed by...
