REVIEW⇢ FRAGMENTS OF THE LOST

BY MEGAN MIRANDA

    SYNOPSIS FROM AUTHORS WEBSITE⇣
Jessa Whitworth knew she didn’t belong in her ex-boyfriend Caleb’s room. But she couldn’t deny that she was everywhere–in his photos, his neatly folded T-shirts, even the dragonfly necklace in his jeans pocket . . . the one she gave him for safekeeping on that day.
His mother asked her to pack up his things–even though she blames Jessa for his accident. How could she say no? And maybe, just maybe, it will help her work through the guilt she feels about their final moments together.
But as Jessa begins to box up the pieces of Caleb’s life, they trigger memories that make Jessa realize their past relationship may not be exactly as she remembered. And she starts to question whether she really knew Caleb at all.
Each fragment of his life reveals a new clue that propels Jessa to search for the truth about Caleb’s accident. What really happened on the storm-swept bridge?

      MY THOUGHTS⇣

Her boyfriend dies...or disappears off a bridge, his Mother tells her she's moving and can't bear to clean out his room...because it's full of her.  Each thing she cleans from his room triggers a memory of him and while it moves a little slowly at this point, it's how we learn the story of their relationship, both how it started; and how it ended.  Through all the fragments of their past comes the real mystery...the why, the how and more...

A compelling listen with narration from someone I already know I like, I found this not only engaging...but filled with one secret after another secret...more like secrets begetting secrets, and twists that I didn't see coming and maybe didn't quite believe all the time...but overall not game-changing.  This is my third book by Megan Miranda, I liked Come Find Me and didn't like The Perfect Stranger...so 2 out 3, ain't bad.
